just pointing

first: read scott's recent post then: help me out with hydra. and: i wanted to point out that Uncle Screwtape "u_s" has left the building unannounced. i don't know what that means for the future of humanity.

scotts post is classic god in the gaps.

when newton couldn't figure out why the planets were revolving around the sun in the same direction he concluded that there had to be a god.

lewis does the same. its an argument for god from ignorance.

(sorry.. my philosophical ego just had to point that out)

anyhow, please don't take my desire to bail on hydra personally. i just don't think either of us is going to convince one another of anything -- and like you said, participation from other readers never materialized which was really disappointing. i don't know about you, but for me knowing the fact that others were reading and not chiming in kinda pissed me off. many of the same readers seemed to have no hesitancy lobbing the occasional shallow jab on my blog, but when given an opprotunity to roll up their sleeves and get busy, they had nothing to offer.

(jm -- i'm not just talking about you.. however i couldn't believe your audacity when you left this comment on hydra-

"Erik and others --

Apparently RS has thrown in the towel. But I'd love to hear more about your thoughts on these issues anyway."

-- the fact you posted this having never participated yourself is just incredible.)

so erik, for me the whole thing seems a waste of time. if it was just going to be a dialog twixt you and i then we could have done emails or phone conversations and covered a lot more ground. of course i know it didn't formulate that way.. but hopefully you see my point.

Stuey--

Never said I wanted to participate. Just like to watch. Kinda like cats mating. Or something.
