Dorothy Day Quotes

While I find it hard to relate to her radical socialist applications, the ideals that Dorothy Day sought out with her life and the way she let the conflict between her limitations and those ideals be filled with God, is a testimony I am humbled by. Since we're in a Catholic Worker Movement quote moment: "There were times when Dorothy was frustrated with the hierarchy or with fellow Catholics. She went so far as to say, "I loved the Church for Christ made visible. Not for itself, because it was so often a scandal to me. Romano Guardini said that the Churchis the Cross on which Christ was crucified; one could not separate Christ from His Cross, and one must live in a state of permanent dissatisfaction with the Church." ~ quoted in a biography on Day, from The Long Lonliness, pp 149-150
