where have we heard this before?

"We have the ability to take him out and I think the time has come that we exercise that ability. We don't need another 200 billion-dollar war to get rid of one strong-arm dictator." --Pat Robertson "In October 2002, as the Bush administration was beating the drum for war in Iraq, Mr. Fleischer was asked about a Congressional Budget Office estimate that a war to topple Saddam Hussein might cost as much as $9 billion a month. Fleischer replied, 'The cost of one bullet, if the Iraqi people take it on themselves, is substantially less than going to war.' When such blunt talk of assassination prompted criticism, he clarified his position by stating, "Regime change is welcome in whatever form that it takes." Read the rest here.

Interesting.

If someone had a gun to my head and was making me choose between an assassination and a full-scale war, I would almost CERTAINLY pick the assassination...

But to see a so-called 'christian' publicly endorse KILLING someone (thereby sending them to hell) is sickening in so many different ways. Not only is it just distasteful and completely out of line, but it's completely antithetical from the Gospels and Jesus' teachings.

Ironically, though, it makes me want to publicly call for Pat Robertson's assassination.

ok, but here's the kicker for me. how many intelegencia with arms would i draw to your house and mine if i made the same comparison to the political situation in this country.

i dont even feel comfortable talking about it directly, i have to side step it cleverly, like those "regime change begins at home" bumper stickers.

apparently freedom of speech only applies to murderous threats of leaders in "enemy" countries.
