on the off chance...

what would be an event that would compel all of you blog readers--okay, most--to come here to south bend? i know that i am not a big enough draw. my wife and daughter likewise haven't lured many people this way. but what if there were a medium-sized musical event taking place somewhere in town? something that has appeared in not-so-many cities...but might be making its way to SB. would that entice you? i'm just hinting here, because no papers have been signed. nothing major, nothing definite. but let's just say i got to be backstage with jars of clay et. al. when they came to vineyard columbus in 2000 and this could potentially be way cooler than that.... interested? (no it's not Queen or The Who).

actually it wouldn't be too hard to have an event cooler than jars of clay at the big V.

so, who is it?

Yo E -

IF you are putting something together at a 2-500 seat venue with something approaching a built in draw AND the venue is NOT a church AND the venue books non-religious acts (wow how's that for some conditions) you and I should have a serious conversation about booking the Ragbirds to open for whomever it is.

AND

If you still haven't checked out our music, please go here (http://www.myspace.com/theragbirds) now and do it.

AND

We're still trying to get in touch with whomever books Sufjan...(HINT).

:-)

Love you man - want to meet you IRL. Let's make it happen.

Thanks for the replies, all. I am not free to disclose the info yet. The worship director at church got in a personal phone call to the artist, but I'm not sure if anything is set in stone.

I can say who it is not: the Ragbirds, Strong Bad, and Mariah Carey are (for better or worse) not on the list.

I hope this happens. We could use some Columbusification (& Detroit, Ypsilanti, Indianapolis, Phili, Chicago, and all-yall)
