My turn. Kelly - you rock. Erik, Im still uneasy with Radiohead...they make me want to throw things. As for the issue of homosexuality, I have some thoughts. Firstly I do not see them as my enemies, and I do not think such a tag needs to be placed...metaphorical or not. Erik - I think you told me this when I asked you about how to address teens with these issues. First and foremost...I like to speak with the person rather that speaking to the sin. Conviction only really hits us when we are in relationship with Christ - so I do not see it as my responsibility to point out somebody's sinfulness...especially that of non-believers. Secondly - I think you are doing the right thing by investing time with this girl. I am so afraid of being so bold with the teens I talk with because of issues that are incumbent with 'minors' etc, but I think you have a great platform for sharing friendship and Christian love. She definitely knows she is different...she probably has felt different all her life...and aside from finding the male anatomy revolting (as a lesbian once told me when I was 17 -she was actually my girlfriend when I was 13)...she is quite aware that her lifestyle is frowned upon by bigots the world over. I doubt she can change by her own will and strength. So, as Erik points out...the key is to share Christ with her in every way shape and form...through love, service, sacrifice...and so long as you dont encourage her sexuality...but speak to her as a person...then you can do no more. It is neither your duty nor responsibility to save her...to convert her ...but you can stir the cake mix a little and add some spices...give her some Jesus flavor that she finds irresistable. Keep us posted! Erik...bloggtastic. Wunderbar meine freunde. By the way...a school in colorado called me today...looks real promising! Love to you both.
