happy easter!
four holy week services later, i'm pretty tired out. but it's a good tired, an introspective tired. we talked a bit this week about good friday being the end of the christian year--the day of atonement--the realization that all human institutions, governments, businesses, even homes are hopelessly corrupted or corruptable. easter is the first day of the new year: what cannot be done by the hand of humans can only be done by God's hand. or in the words of die-hard skeptic H. L. Mencken... "Any man who afflicts the human race with ideas must be prepared to see them misunderstood."
